The thing that governments around the world lack most is innovation and the ability to execute long term social/industrial planning effectively.
As far as planning goes we must be amongst the worst in the world considering our bullish economy over the past decade.
Our main airport is a national disgrace not to mention the manopolistic nature of the new terminal plans.
The lack of foresight in council housing planning beggars belief which has led of course to the ghettoization of areas all across the country.
Our education system doesn't develop our youth in the way they need leaving them emotionally ill prepared for a life in what has now become a violent ireland.
Drug and alcohol consumption, violent crime, need I say more... ?
Thailand - BTS
It might be a developing country but the Bangkok Transit System or 'Skytrain' beats the pants off anything we've got not to mention the lovely new airport they just built, come on ireland get it together.
England - Himmat Youth Project (Halifax)
< They try to provide training facilities, try to address their education needs, recreational needs and beyond.
So what are they doing elsewhere... ?
